FAQ
What does a first session look like?
Our first session will take about one hour. It is a chance for me to get to know you and form a blueprint of what we will likely focus on in our work together. I will ask questions about different aspects of your life, your family background, your work, education, and history of relationships. After that our meetings will be more conversational. For couples, our intake will encompass three sessions: first I will meet with both of you together, and then I will meet with each of you individually.
Do you offer online therapy?
Right now my practice is exclusively online
How often will we meet?
I like to meet weekly, since that is what I find to be most effective for the majority of people.
How long is a session?
My sessions are 45 minutes long.
How long does therapy take to work?
It depends on what your goals are, and goals tend to change once therapy gets going. I will say that many people I work with experience benefits from therapy within the first two to four months.
Why do some people prefer private pay?
Private pay therapy offers more flexibility, privacy, and individualized care compared to insurance-based therapy. Without insurance restrictions, we can tailor treatment to your unique needs without being limited by session caps, diagnosis requirements, or coverage restrictions. It also ensures that your mental health records remain confidential and are not shared with insurance companies.
